The install

What's the process?

Most floors take two days. Day one is prep, moisture testing, crack repair, and the epoxy base, which cures overnight. Day two is flake and the polyaspartic top coat. Where a moisture test has already cleared the slab ahead of the install, we can do it in one. If the test shows moisture, it is two days at the same price.

Moisture test & prep
We diamond grind the slab, moisture test it, and fill the cracks and chips. The test result sets the schedule.

Epoxy base
An epoxy base coat that bonds to the ground concrete, in your color. If the slab tests wet, we use a moisture-mitigating base at no extra charge.

Broadcast flake
Hand-broadcast decorative flake to full refusal, in your color and size.

Polyaspartic top
A UV-stable polyaspartic top coat that seals the flake in. Covered by the North State 20-Year Workmanship Warranty.

Written warranty against peeling, delamination, and bubbling. If it fails because of our prep or our product, we grind it back and redo it at no cost to you.

If it isn't right, we come back and make it right. That holds whether it is a garage, a patio, or a shop floor. We moisture-test the slab first so the floor has a reason to last, and we put our name on the result.

What the floor looks like

Diamond-ground slab, epoxy base, full flake broadcast, UV-stable polyaspartic top. If the slab tests wet, we use a moisture-mitigating base at no extra charge. These show the finish and the flake blends rather than specific jobs. We are booking our first North State installs now, and this section gets replaced with our own once they are photographed.

We started North State to bring a higher standard of finish, and a straighter answer on price, to garages across the Triangle. I'm a dad of three living right here in Apex. We run every quote ourselves, so the number you hear up front is the number on the final invoice. I would rather lose a job than talk somebody into one.

I'm a dad of two living right here in Raleigh, and I care about getting every detail right before I'll put my name on a floor. The finish you walk on is one we put down ourselves. A floor either holds up or it does not, and that shows up years later, not the day we finish.
